Rocking my 1988 Rolex 17000 black dial. Just got it back from RSC.

Have this exact watch. I go goo-goo for jubilee's. Thought I wanted it with fluted bezel, but after looking at a couple colorway dials with smooth bezel the mint green and slate color dials look amazing and sporty/dress with smooth bezel. Everyone has their opinions, I have a 36 vintage day date with fluted jubilee, love it. This watch is a great daily go anywhere stunner without the fluted. Very clean, classy and still a stunner!

Fan of Datejust watches. However, I agree with her that the bezel needs to be fluted. Also, the Jubilee bracelet cries out to be a hidden clasp; not the cheesy stamped sheet metal. Both my wife's jubilee Datejust and my son's jubilee Datejust have the hidden clasp as does my day-date.

Purchased a DJ41 126300-0019 May this year. This model is configured with an Oyster bracelet, prompting also to buy a Jubilee bracelet, now replacing the Oyster. So, I settle with the option of swapping when I feel like. Niiiice video…;o)

I bought my fiancé a mint green DateJust, smooth bezel, oyster bracelet for our engagement gift. He loves it. I was considering the jubilee bracelet but that’s a bit too flashy for daily wear for his work situation so I opted for the oyster. It’s a beautiful dial color, very unique. I think the jubilee works better with like rose gold. For example the chocolate dial, fluted rose gold bezel and the jubilee. That whole watch is flashy, so why not go with a sparkly jubilee bracelet but I think jubilee in stainless and a smooth bezel is a bit of an odd combination, either go 100% flashy or go 100% discreet.

I love the Batman… however I already have a stainless submariner, I wanted something with a splash of gold. So I opted for the rootbeer two tone GMT. I daily wear it as a machine repair technician. I’ve had it for about 3 months, it certainly isn’t a new shiny watch anymore.

Great to see the "1" in the date window of the Datejust as today is my birthday! Yesterday was June 31st for many of us. Maybe it's just my monitor, but the dial tends more toward the blue side than mint green. Perhaps it has more green in person. I tend to favor Jubilee and President bracelets for the dressier watches and the Oyster for sports models, like the one I'm wearing today, my GMT II with the Coke bezel. At first glance I thought Emily's watch had a champagne dial or even a Stella dial. That President bracelet is the bomb.

Have this model....the oyster bracelet modernizes this one...goes better with smooth bezel 100%. If you went fluted, yes the jubilee all the way...but if you want a more modern look, oyster.

Preceramic Rolex watches are tricky. You need to put in a lot of research to get an original one, i.e. not one with a service bezel, dial or hands. You'll need to learn about fonts, lume, dial markings, bracelet serial numbers, movements. You'll pay roughly the same for a Rolex with service parts as you will for a 100% original watch, but the difference in value to a collector is vast.

Dont be affraid to buy a used 16610. I purchased mine knowing the mainspring was bad and the stem needed attention. My repairs cost roughly $500 and was well worth it. Personally I have found my Omegas are more robust than my only Rolex. My next purchase will be the 3235 movement.
